 During the time before YAB ex-PM Najib, there had been some instances where clients of Rashpal were unable to escape the clutches of law, not least because the police did not sufficiently help in producing poorly written investigation paper for the Attorney General’s (AG) office consideration but arising from very good and meticulous Deputy Public Prosecutors (DPP) from AG’s office. This would enable Rashpal to pull significant amount of power in determining which DPP is assigned to cases that are under his watch. Not many people knows the link but Rashpal had everything to do with her appointment as her in-laws were certainly not aligned to the BN government since she was the wife of Gobind Singh Deo’s brother-in-law. No way would someone with close ties to the opposition then and further a foreign national be allowed tohold such a coveted position in AG’s chambers. Just imagine how much power Rashpal had in order to make this happen. So moving on, Ranjeet will assist in making payment of bribe to whichever corruptible DPPs in the AG’s chamber such that the syndicate run by Rashpal can continue to thrive in bending the rule of law to their favour. Rashpal never wants to get his hand dirty in any of the money dealing. The corrupted DPPs will be allocated to cases that Rashpal has interests in, where these DPPs will purposely fumble in the structural handling of the cases leading to the convicts actually being set free even without trial. You can check how many of these cases had taken place since 2009 until last few years. Even after her departure from the AG’s chambers, her assistant was doing the bidding for Rashpal.
